2020 Toyota Fortuner – Toyota first introduced a new generation Fortuner in 2015, now 3 years old in India. This company has introduced Fortuner which was enhanced with subtle changes in features. This update comes as a buffer before Toyota brings the next generation model. In addition, Toyota also introduced the facelifted version of Innova Crysta. The 2020 Toyota Fortuner comes with a new interior scheme and improved features.
The 2020 Toyota Fortuner SUV will also receive a diesel and gasoline engine that complies with BSVI, however, improved engine settings will come in 2020. This new model gets a choice of new interior chamois, seat perforations and heat rejection glass. However, this feature only applies to 4X2 AT, 4X4 MT & 4X4 AT diesel variants.

This SUV is available with 2 engine choices – 2.8 liter diesel and 2.7 liter gasoline. In terms of proportions, the new Fortuner is 4,795mm long, 1,855mm wide and 1,835mm high, and has a wheelbase of 2,745mm. It comes with a 225mm ground clearance which is more than enough to overcome Indian road conditions. The capacity of the fuel tank is very large at 80 liters.

The updated Fortuner is equipped with an existing engine set, which includes a 2.8-liter diesel & 2.7-liter gasoline. However, the two engines will meet the upcoming BS6 emission norms in 2020. The 4-cylinder, in-line turbocharged diesel engine is capable of producing 174.5bhp at 3,400rpm and 450Nm of torque between 1,600 to 2,400 rpm. Transmission options include a six-speed manual and a six-speed automatic unit.
On the other hand, the gasoline version of the SUV gets a new 2.7-liter, 4-cylinder unit for 163.7bhp of power and 245Nm of torque. This engine is paired with a five-speed manual transmission or a six-speed automatic transmission with paddle shift & shiftlock.
Because the Fortuner hasn’t received many changes in terms of power and engine efficiency, the mileage numbers remain the same. While the manual diesel version produces 14.24 kmpl, the automatic model is claimed to return 12.9 kmpl. The mileage for manual and gasoline variants is rated at 10.01 kmpl and 10.26 kmpl respectively.
2020 Toyota Fortuner Facelift Release Date and Price
The price of the 2020 Toyota Fortuner will start around $ 44,000. The base model is well equipped, so be careful when choosing a higher and wider trim level. Toyota’s latest crossover SUV will first enter the Australian market later this year, and in the first half of 2020 the Fortuner will arrive in the US.
